NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC/Gray News) – A former NFL player was arrested in South Carolina early Friday morning in connection with a hit-and-run crash that involved four vehicles.
Jail records state that Robert Lee Quinn, 34, is charged with leaving the scene of property damage and reckless driving.
According to an incident report, police responded to B&N Auto Service at about 2 a.m. for a crash involving several vehicles.
North Charleston firefighters told police one of the people involved in the crash, later identified as Quinn, was attempting to leave the scene in another vehicle.
Authorities said Quinn had visible injuries to his head and hands with fresh bleeding consistent with injuries from a crash.
Officers at the scene identified a Ford F-150 registered to Quinn as the vehicle that started the crash.
Police said Quinn’s truck hit the passenger side of a Honda Element which pushed into another pickup truck and Chrysler 300.
When police ordered Quinn out of the vehicle he refused. The 34-year-old was eventually pulled out of the car and taken into custody.
He was transported to an area hospital for treatment before being booked into the Al Cannon Detention Center.
Quinn was also charged in August of 2023 with hit and run for hitting four cars, a gate and a light post.
Quinn was the 14th overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft by the St. Louis Rams. He retired in 2022 with 102 career sacks, ranking 36th on the all-time list.
The former NFL player currently remains at the Al Cannon Detention Center.
