At the start of the season Aberdeen didn’t know how to lose – now winning has become alien to them.
The Dons have become the ultimate Jekyll and Hyde act and Jimmy Thelin must be scratching his head at the right formula with his team unable to even fluke a positive result. Ten games without a win is a run of form a relegation-threatened side would be ashamed of. Since their 4-1 victory against Dundee on November 9, Aberdeen have lost seven of their last 10 fixtures, dropping to fourth in the table and 22 points behind Celtic. The frustration is starting to show with Slobodan Rubezic shown a red card in the 2-0 loss at Motherwell.
Speaking of relegation form, Hearts are nowhere near that despite sitting 11th in the table. Over the past five games they have picked up 10 points – just two less than table toppers Celtic. Neil Critchley appears to have struck a formula despite having a misfiring Lawrence Shankland on his books. Two dogged 1-0 wins against Dundee United and Motherwell in the last two games highlight a new-found steel sorely lacking in the first part of the season. A win could see them leapfrog Kilmarnock and out of the relegation spots.
