Oxford United are keen on a deal for Celtic’s Maik Nawrocki.

The English Championship outfit want to land the Polish defender on-loan. The U’s scouting team after alerted manager Gary Rowett to the 23-year-old. Oxford want to strengthen their defence in their bid to help their survival bid. He is keen to see if a deal can be done with the Hoops. Nawrocki is well down the pecking order. Cameron Carter-Vickers, Auston Trusty and Liam Scales are all in front of Nawrocki.

Celtic have just let Stephen Welsh move to KV Mechelen on loan. It remains to be seen if Brendan Rodgers wants to keep him for cover, although Dane Murray has been recalled from his loan at Queen’s Park. Nawrocki moved to Celtic from Legia Warsaw in 2023 but has never really made a regular first-team slot his own.
