AUSTIN, Texas — A new H-E-B in Buda may be on its way.
Developers affiliated with H-E-B recently bought land in Buda located near the northwest corner of I-35 and Main Street. The sale was finalized on Dec. 16.
According to city documents, the new store would be at least 115,000-square feet and have a drive-thru restaurant, pharmacy and garden center.
The company said it plans to build the new store over an old landfill, so crews will still have to remove 20 feet if contaminated soil, and subsequently refill the land before building can begin.
Construction on the new store could begin in 2026.
