Dancing On Ice star Chelsee Healey has opened up about the moment she passed out following a nasty fall on the ice.

The Hollyoaks actress, who is teamed with professional skater Andy Buchanan for the popular ITV series, which made its comeback this weekend, had a terrifying experience during rehearsals.

Chelsee took a tumble and hit her coccyx, leading to her fainting on the ice. The frightening incident was recounted by the duo, with Chelsee recalling how she slipped and landed hard on her backside.

Despite the painful mishap, Andy commended his celebrity partner for her resilience, as she managed to return to the ice just one day later, the Mirror reports.

When questioned about any injuries sustained so far, Andy shared with The Mirror and other media outlets: “Well, we had one fall. She fell right on her tailbone right on her coccyx. You know that shock it will go right through your body and then she fainted.

“That was a bit of a scary one. She was out for just for a minute. I was like look at me, and then there was no looking at me, and then I put her down on the ice and you know, just checked on her. Coming back after that, I have a lot of respect for that.”

Chelsee herself recounted the ordeal, saying she vaguely remembered Andy trying to rouse her and feeling extremely dizzy afterwards.

She said: “I remember Andy waking me up and going Chelsee Chelsee, and he picked me up and dragged off the ice, you know … I was all dizzy, and then I just went. My confidence was on the floor, so Andy just spent all the session building my confidence up.”

Following a challenging rehearsal, actress Chelsee Healey and her co-star Andy were supported by Sharon, their trusted physiotherapist from the team.

Andy explained: “We called Sharon, who takes care of us in the show. She’s the most amazing physio, and she kind of walked Chelsee through it a few time and and you know, Chelsee came back the next day and you know gave it her all.”

Chelsee praised Andy’s patience and skills, saying: “He’s so patient and understanding and is amazing at what he does … I know it’s always how many times you get back up, no. I’m using muscles I didn’t know existed. Like what’s this, what’s that.”

Admitting to her nerves before the live shows, she remains hopeful of her performance, confessing: “I’m broken. It has been the most mentally challenging thing I’ve ever done in my life. It has been really hard but at the same time really rewarding. Probably a really rare time that I’ll feel proud of myself.

“Hopefully if I do well on Sunday. It’s not come as natural as what I wish I would have liked it to but I’m really grateful that I’ve got the opportunity to do it.”
