Presenter Jeremy Kyle is set for a comeback to ITV half a decade after his programme was cancelled.

Jeremy, 59, hinted at his return to the channel in an Instagram post this week, which captured a behind-the-scenes snapshot of the broadcaster dressed smartly in a white shirt, navy trousers, and brown shoes, posing next to an ITV logo.

The image, uploaded on Thursday, came without a caption.

Reports have emerged that Jeremy will feature as a guest on the upcoming series of Life Stories, now helmed by Kate Garraway, 57.

The Good Morning Britain presenter is slated to explore both Jeremy’s extensive career and elements of his off-screen life during their televised conversation.

His anticipated reappearance on ITV occurs roughly six years following the network’s decision to discontinue his polarising show, the Jeremy Kyle Show, first aired in 2005, terminated in 2019.

Carolyn McCall, CEO of ITV at the time, stated it was “the right time for the show to end.”

This decision came in the wake of the tragic passing of Steve Dymond, a participant on the show, within that year, reports the Mirror.

Jeremy, who subsequently took up a role with TalkTV, reportedly recorded with Kate this week in preparation for his reintroduction to ITV through her interview-focused programme.

A source disclosed to the Sun: “He filmed with Kate this week and was really open honest about everything he’s been through.

“Everyone will be thrilled to see him back at ITV, it’s a really great episode.”

Kate assumed the role of host for Life Stories in 2022, succeeding Piers Morgan who had left the show. Piers had been the face of the show since its inception in 2009, conducting interviews with celebrities like Katie Price, Mel B, Freddie Flintoff, Simon Cowell and Kelly Holmes over the years.

Kate was his last guest in an episode that was broadcasted in 2021. She has since presented two series of Life Stories herself – with guests including John Barnes and Ruby Wax – while a third series is still to be launched.
