Expectant parents Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright are reportedly in the spotlight for a new television venture.
The duo, both aged 37, shared the joyful news last month that they’re set to become parents. In a heartwarming post just after Christmas, they hinted that the year ahead is “going to be a special one” for them, accompanied by an image revealing Michelle’s growing baby bump.
Post-holiday season, Michelle has dived back into her role on Sky’s hit comedy-drama Brassic, spotted on set as they film the seventh series, all while anticipating their bundle of joy.
Rumours have surfaced suggesting that Michelle might join her Heart Radio presenter husband Mark in a documentary series.
The buzz is that they could be the focus of a reality show chronicling their “journey into parenthood”.
A source confided to the Sun that ex-Coronation Street star Michelle and radio personality Mark are considered “such a TV power couple,” with their step towards parenting being “huge” for them. It’s understood that proposals for the potential docuseries are currently being drafted, reports the Mirror.
The insider elaborated: “A couple of production companies are writing up propositions to see if they’d let in cameras to follow them becoming parents.”
They further mentioned: “These fly-on-the-wall shows are huge on ITV, as well as streamers like Prime, and there is a huge audience that would love an insight into Michelle and Mark’s world.”
An insider has hinted that plans are underway, though not yet finalised, with the source revealing: “It’s all just in the planning stages and no formal approaches have been made but the offers are close to being finalised.”
They also shared insights into Michelle Keegan’s potential hiatus from her role in Brassic later this year.
The source disclosed that Michelle is currently going full throttle on the series, stating: “She’s ‘pedal to the metal’ on the show at the moment,” and is “finishing up her scenes” before she takes a “break”.
While her colleagues may continue filming until around May, Michelle is expected to wrap up “in about three weeks”.
Last month, Michelle and her husband Mark Wright, who have been an item for over ten years, delighted fans with an Instagram announcement of her pregnancy. The post was warmly received by followers and celebrity friends alike.
The couple has often been probed about their plans for children, something Michelle has previously condemned as “horrible”. As previously reported by the Mirror, she commented: “It’s horrible. People don’t know if we’re trying.
“They don’t know the background of what’s happening. In this day and age, you shouldn’t be asking questions like that. I’m asked purely because I’m a woman. But I’m immune to it now – it’s like a reaction, and as soon as I hear it I brush it off as it’s no one else’s business.”
