A woman has recounted her experience of shedding just over a stone within three months. Natalie Arnell’s weight dropped from 171 pounds (12 stone two lbs) to 156 pounds (11 stone one pound) after taking on the ’75 Hard’ challenge.
The ’75 Hard’ initiative was conceived by YouTuber, entrepreneur and top-selling author Andy Frisella. According to his book, part of the ’75 Hard’ programme entails engaging in physical activity twice each day for 45 minutes, although one session must be outside.
Since embarking on the challenge, Natalie has been charting her weight loss progress on TikTok, posting numerous videos that depict her new lifestyle modifications and diet choices. In a specific video, she disclosed her primary three tips following her loss of over a stone, reports Gloucestershire Live.
The clip was annotated: “Three weight loss tips from a gal who lost 15 lbs in three months.”
Natalie shared these suggestions for shedding pounds:
- Make healthier versions of your favourite food at home – you control the quality of ingredients this way.
- Cut down on alcohol consumption – alcohol is really high in calories and most people don’t just stop at one drink.
- At least 30 minutes of movement daily – do not underestimate the power of walking every day.
Natalie also gave advice on “things to avoid” for those aiming to drop between ten to 20 lbs and maintain it. Among her recommendations were eliminating ‘unhealthy’ food types, eschewing juice cleanses, and reducing excessive drinking.
Weight loss advice from the NHS is essential for healthy outcomes:
Top NHS tips for losing weight healthily:
- Get active for 150 minutes a week – you can break this up into shorter sessions
- Aim to get your five-a-day – 80g of fresh, canned or frozen fruit or vegetables count as 1 portion
- Aim to lose one to two lbs, or 0.5 to 1kg, a week
- Read food labels – products with more green colour coding than amber and red are often a healthier option
- Swap sugary drinks for water – if you do not like the taste, add slices of lemon or lime for flavour
- Cut down on food that’s high in sugar and fat – start by swapping sugary cereal for wholegrain alternatives
- Share your weight loss plan with someone you trust – they can help motivate you when you have a bad day
Things NHS says you should avoid:
- Do not lose weight suddenly with diets
- Do not stock unhealthy food – popcorn, fruit and rice cakes can be healthier alternatives
- Do not skip meals – you might end up snacking more because you feel hungry
- Do not finish your plate if you’re full – you can save leftover food for the next day
On TikTok, user Emma Logsdon shared her impressive weight loss story, shedding several dress sizes from her 215lbs (fifteen stone four pounds) starting weight. She credited a consistent exercise regime, dietary improvements, and bodybuilder training for her dramatic transformation, totalling a loss of six stone.
Emma attributed her success to a specific “daily lunch” meal that she claims is both swift to prepare and cost-effective. She details the recipe in a TikTok clip, stating: “Two minute lunch. 40g protein only $1.70 (£1.38).”
“First thing’s first, grab a big old bowl cause we’re just gonna be throwing a bunch of stuff in here. So you’re going to take your big bowl and you’re gonna set it on your food scale, tear it out, and you’re gonna add 110g of plain white rice, jasmine rice.”
She went on to say that she has pre-prepared around four servings of this rice, simplifying the process further as all she needs to do at mealtime is heat it up. Following the rice, she throws in 81g of green beans.
With all components ready to go in advance, Em emphasized the quick and easy assembly, requiring just a short stint in the microwave. To top off her creation, the fitness enthusiast tosses in some avocado.
