The fire started on a second floor balcony at the Double Creek Apartments on S First Street.
AUSTIN, Texas — One person has been hospitalized after firefighters with the Austin Fire Department (AFD) battled a fire at a South Austin apartment complex Sunday.
According to AFD, the fire started on a second floor balcony at the Double Creek Apartments in the 11000 block of S First Street.
The person was taken via Travis County Starflight to Dell Seton Medical Center with undisclosed injuries and is currently in critical condition, according to Austin-Travis County EMS (ATCEMS).
The fire was extinguished sometime around 5 p.m. The interior of the apartment suffered no damage and the balcony only suffered minimal damage.
