ATKINSON, N.H. (Gray News) – The body of a missing woman was recovered from a pond in New Hampshire, according to authorities.
Authorities were called to Big Island Pond in Atkinson, New Hampshire, for reports of someone yelling for help Saturday evening.
Sunday morning, a dive team recovered the body of Emer Mezzetti, 56, from the pond.
According to investigators, Mezzetti drowned after falling through the ice Saturday evening.
Authorities said first responders attempted rescue efforts but were unsuccessful.
Neighbors in the area say it is common to see people out on the pond ice fishing, skating, playing ice hockey or walking.
