During the winter, those without a tumble dryer will know the struggle of drying laundry indoors, with towels and bedding particularly problematic.

With the UK’s unpredictable weather, outdoor drying often isn’t possible, making clothes airers the only solution. But these bulky items can take days to dry and take up a lot of space, something that isn’t ideal for most households.

Indoor drying can also encourage damp and mould due to excess moisture in the house. However, a cleaning whizz on social media has shared a nifty trick to quicken the drying process, reports the Express.

Lynsey Crombie, known online as the Queen of Clean, says an additional step during the wash cycle can drastically cut the drying time. Her TikTok video delving into this hack has attracted over 27k viewers.

The video highlights that one extra spin cycle, usually under 10 minutes, could significantly decrease drying times.

In her words: “Don’t forget guys, at this time of year when you’ve finished washing your towels and bedding, make sure you leave it in, turn your dial and give it an extra spin.

“It’s only going to take 10 minutes, but it’s going to make a massive difference to your drying time.”

However, don’t just take her word for it – numerous viewers in the comments were in firm agreement that this tip worked wonders when it came to drying your laundry inside this winter.

One person said: “I do this after your advice Lyndsey at it definitely does make a difference.”

Another wrote: “I do 2 extra spin cycles. It makes such a difference! “.

A third suggested: “I do a spin and drain as I find a lot of stuff dries quicker.”

And a fourth echoed: “I always give it an extra spin.”
