“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”

The break-in comes months after the chip shop collected a gong as the region’s top stop for grub.

It claimed the accolade at the Scottish Fish & Chip Awards 2024, with shops from up and down the country in attendance to celebrate the best of Scotland’s beloved industry.

The shop, run by Vincenzo Di Carlo, picked up two prizes on the night – for Best Fish Supper and Best Chip Shop – both for the central region.
