OAK HILL, W.Va. – The Oak Hill Police Department said a man was taken into custody after responding to a domestic situation.
According to the Oak Hill Police Department, the incident happened on January 11 at 11:42 a.m. where police were sent to 101 Hidden Valley Drive for a domestic situation. When police arrived, they say the victim told them that a man by the name of Johnny Ray Kincaid, of Oak Hill, pointed a firearm at his stomach after a verbal argument.
The Police Department said Kincaid left the scene and went back to his house on South Loop Drive where police unsuccessfully tried to make contact with him. Police said they knew Kincaid was in the house because he was talking to his girlfriend, Kelly Kees, through the door.
The Police Department said Kees gave them permission to go into the home, and that Kincaid ran into the attic, where police said it was unsafe to follow him.
Officers found that Kincaid was a convicted felon and shouldn’t be in possession of a firearm. An arrest warrant was issued for Kincaid for Prohibited person with a firearm and brandishing, the Oak Hill Police Department said.
The Oak Hill Police Department asked the West Virginia State Police SRT Team to help serve the felony warrant, and Kincaid was eventually taken into custody without incident.
The incident is still under investigation, according to the Oak Hill Police Department.
