Residents living in Kippen and Gargunnock have been left high and dry this afternoon after a burst pipe left properties without water.

Scottish Water says that the repair to the damaged pipe is underway, with an estimated completion time of around 6.30pm tonight (Monday).

The burst caused an interruption to the water supply for customers in the Gargunnock and Kippen areas.

The burst is in located on the A811, Dumbarton Road, and motorists are being warned that it may cause some traffic disruption whilst repairs re carried out.

A Scottish Water spokesperson said: “The estimated completion time for the repair is 6.30pm. We expect to complete the repair in a timeframe which means we do not plan to provide bottled water.

“The water supply will gradually return to normal for customers once the repair has been completed.”
