Shocking CCTV footage captured the moment a man dressed in black robbed a convenience store in Edinburgh.

Police have launched a probe after the terrifying incident happened at the Londis store on Easter Road in Leith at around 6.50pm on Friday. In a clip, which was shared on Facebook, a man can be seen entering the shop with what appears to be a pole in his hand.

Items are scattered across the ground as he makes his way towards the cashier with the object held above his head. The shopkeeper can then be seen opening the till and handing over what is believed to be cash.

Officers have confirmed they are investigating the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson told Edinburgh Live: “Enquiries are ongoing into a robbery at a convenience store on Easter Road, Edinburgh on Friday, January 10 2025. The incident happened around 6.50pm and was reported to police around 9pm. No one was injured.”
