The junior scored 14 touchdowns this season, including five during the College Football Playoff.

AUSTIN, Texas — One of Texas’ most prolific offensive playmakers is heading to the NFL.

Junior running back Jaydon Blue officially declared for the 2025 NFL Draft on Sunday, announcing his decision in a post on X. He thanked God, his family, the university and his coaches and teammates in announcing his decision.

After presumptive starting running back CJ Baxter went down with an injury days before the 2024 season began, Blue took on an elevated role in the offense, spearheading the Longhorn backfield in tandem with sophomore Quintrevion Wisner. In turn, 2024 was a career year for the Houston native, as he tallied 730 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground as well as 368 yards and six touchdowns through the air.

In three years on the Forty Acres, Blue rushed for 1,161 yards and tallied 503 receiving yards, scoring 18 touchdowns in total.

Most draft analysts project Blue to be either a late-round selection or an undrafted free agent.
