GEORGETOWN, Texas — A Central Texas animal shelter is undergoing continued maintenance issues after its third water leak in just 24 hours.
On Tuesday, the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter posted to social media to update its followers on the most recent leak at its facility in Georgetown. The incident happened around 8 a.m., after two previous leaks were discovered on Monday.
Crews are currently addressing the problem, but the adoption area currently doesn’t have water “for the second day in a row,” according to the shelter. The “regular cleaning routine” has also been impacted by the outage.
Despite the lack of water, the shelter remains open to the public, allowing early entry Tuesday morning to those interested in volunteering, fostering or taking a dog out for the day.
For those who can’t help a dog directly, it’s still possible to help in other ways. The shelter is also asking for donations of medium and/or large wire crates to help move more of its bigger dogs into an area with water. Small crates are not needed, as the shelter said it houses over 200 larger canines.
You can also aid the shelter by sharing its most recent Facebook post.
Anyone interested in helping the shelter can visit from noon to 6 p.m. daily at 1855 Southeast Inner Loop in Georgetown.
