The Fayetteville Convention and Visitors Bureau said this year will see an emphasis on self-guided experiences, and will take place outdoors and in shops around town.(Jamie Leigh Reichert)

FAYETTEVILLE, W.Va. – The Fayetteville Convention and Visitors Bureau announced that the Fayetteville Wizard Weekend will take place January 24-26, 2025 in Fayetteville.

According to a press release, there will be activities, food, and other activities as Fayetteville turns into a wizarding village.

The Fayetteville Convention and Visitors Bureau said this year will see an emphasis on self-guided experiences, and will take place outdoors and in shops around town.

Here are some of the event highlights:

  • Falconry Demonstrations & Snakes of West Virginia Presentation: Marvel at the natural world with Snakes of WV with Roy Moose and Falconry with Laurel Creek Falconry and learn about fascinating creatures up close.
  • Ticketed Feast Events: Enjoy themed dining experiences, including the return of the festive Yule Ball and Great Feast.
  • Forbidden Forest Night Hike: Embark on a guided moonlit trek through the forest with Active Southern WV.
  • Spooky Mushrooms of Appalachia Talk: Learn about the mystical fungi of the region with Dina Hornbaker at Waterstone Outdoors.
  • Workshops Galore: Craft your own wizarding essentials, from brooms and quills to hats and more, with workshops throughout the weekend.
  • Wizard Weekend School of Wizardry: Have a magical experience at the Wizard Weekend School of Wizardry with hands on experiences and characters.

Visitors should dress for the weather and be prepared to do some walking, the press release said.
