Gustav Isaksen would reportedly require some “sweet talking” to sign for Celtic with the winger being pushed towards the Lazio exit.
The Hoops were touted with a move for the forward in the final days of the summer transfer window with a loan move with an option to buy reportedly knocked back. But reports in Italy suggest the Scottish Premiership leaders maintain their interest in the Danish international in the winter window. However, La Lazio Siamo Noi report that the 23-year-old “isn’t convinced about going to Scotland” and would require “sweet talking” from the Scottish champions to make the move to Glasgow’s east end.
Yet, Isaksen may have limited options in the Eternal City with The Laziali reporting that he could be “pushed” towards the exit by the powerbrokers a the Serie A heavyweights. Lazio chairman Claudio Lotito is keen to cash in on the forward and the arrival of Arijon Ibrahimovic “could spell the end” of Isaksen’s time in the Italian capital.
The teenager has signed on loan from Bayern Munich with Lazio holding a £6.7m option to buy in the summer. It is noted that “exits are needed” to balance the books and Lotito is keen to “speed up” Isaksen’s exit to kickstart a clearout.
Il Messaggero noted last week that Lazio were looking for a £12.5million fee for the forward. However, they are said to be open to a loan with option to purchase at the end of the campaign.
