Haven has announced an expansion plan that includes the introduction of JD Wetherspoon pubs at four of its holiday parks.

Locations in Cleethorpes Beach, Devon Cliffs, Kent Coast, and Haggerston Castle are set for new pubs, as a significant £6.7 million has been poured into this venture. It forms part of a larger £8.3 million investment aimed at bolstering the holiday park operator’s food and beverage offerings by 2025.

Following in the footsteps of last year’s successful launch at Primrose Valley in Yorkshire, the company is set to open these new establishments in March 2025. In addition to the Wetherspoons pubs, Haven is also planning to inaugurate two Burger Kings at Hopton Holiday Park and Lakeland Holiday Park as part of the same food and drink enhancement strategy.

This initiative echoes Haven’s previous investment of a staggering £100 million across their parks in 2024, earmarked for new initiatives, additional pitches, an updated fleet, among other upgrades. Over the last five years, Haven has welcomed 60 new venues, extending its franchise partnerships which now tally up to six, including revered brands like Burger King, Papa Johns, Millie’s Cookies, Slim Chickens, and Chopstix, reports Chronicle Live.

Simon Palethorpe, Chief Executive of Haven, expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration: “We are delighted to expand our partnership with J D Wetherspoon by introducing four new pubs at our parks.” John Hutson, CEO of JD Wetherspoon, added: “The success of The Five Stones at Primrose Valley reflects our ongoing efforts to grow and enhance our food and beverage partnerships and offerings, and we look forward to bringing this experience to even more locations across the UK for our guests and holiday homeowners to enjoy.”

“We look forward to the opening of the four new Wetherspoon pubs at Haven holiday parks. Our pub at Primrose Valley has proven a great success and we are confident that the four new pubs will be welcomed by guests and owners.”

Since its opening in February 2024, The Five Stones at Primrose Valley, a J D Wetherspoon establishment, has become a popular spot, with over 168,000 draught pints poured, 25,000 bottles of beer and cider served, and nearly 200,000 soft drinks consumed. Additionally, the venue has dished out 67,000 breakfasts and sold 314,000 main meals, not including sides and extras.

Haven, which was acquired by Blackstone in 2021, has demonstrated a strong commitment to enhancing guest experiences, investing over £410 million in its parks over the years 2021, 2022, and 2023. This investment is aimed at upgrading and modernising all holiday sites to provide an unforgettable holiday experience.

With 41 award-winning family holiday parks located throughout England, Scotland, and Wales, Haven offers a full programme of activities and entertainment. Perfectly situated next to some of Britain’s most beautiful beaches and vibrant resorts, Haven parks serve as an excellent base for guests looking to explore the local area.
