ITV crews were forced to step in to rescue Andi Peters from an accident live on Lorraine.
During Tuesday’s (January 14) show, host Lorraine Kelly announced the competition before handing it over to Andi, who was casually sitting on a large inflatable unicorn in an infinity pool overlooking the Indian Ocean.
“Let’s rejoin our Andi, who is in the Maldives. Oh my god, Andi on a unicorn, come on. It doesn’t get any better than that,” Lorraine said.
However, Andi’s float soon began to move closer to the edge of the pool, with the panicked presenter starting to scream.
“Sorry, I’ve never gone this close to the edge, Lorraine, metaphorically and physically,” Andi exclaimed, while Lorraine urged him to “be careful.”
“Can someone just make sure I don’t fall off?” the Good Morning Britain star asked before a crew member quickly appeared on camera to pull the float away from the pool’s edge.
Andi breathed a sigh of relief as he was pulled into safety, with a pleased Lorraine clapping in the studio.
“Oh, my life! Sorry about that. I genuinely thought I was going off the edge. Right, I’m back now,” Andi continued, resuming his hosting duties.
The presenter went on to reveal the details of the show’s competition, which was worth over £140,000.
Viewers could win a trip to the Maldives, where they’ll stay in a villa with an infinity pool.
“These pools look right out onto the Indian Ocean that you could fall in if you’re on a pink flamingo, but you won’t because you won’t be on a pink flamingo because I’m taking this one home with me and throwing it in the bin,” Andi added before a crew member confirmed he was on a unicorn, not a flamingo.
“I don’t even know my animals! I’m under so much stress right now, and there’s only 10 seconds left!” Andi hilariously said.
