At least seven players have already announced their intention to leave college following Texas’ loss to Ohio State.

AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas Longhorns’ leading wide receiver is going pro.

With Texas out of the College Football Playoff, Houston native Matthew Golden has announced he will leave the university early to enter the 2025 NFL Draft.

Golden transferred after two years at the University of Houston. As a junior, Golden racked up 58 catches in 16 games, leading the team with 987 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. Golden is projected to be a second or third round pick in April’s draft.

Other Longhorns entering the draft

On Monday, defensive back Andrew Mukuba also confirmed on social media he’s headed to the NFL. The Austin native notched a career-high 69 tackles for the Longhorns along with five interceptions to end his only season on the Forty Acres.

He joins the following players in their quest to play on Sundays:

Has Quinn Ewers declared for the NFL Draft?

Before Friday’s loss to Ohio State, quarterback Quinn Ewers told ESPN he expects to enter the NFL Draft and would make a decision once the Longhorns’ season ended.

Ewers has been mum on his future amid rumors he was offered $6 million to enter the transfer portal but told ESPN he “hasn’t even paid attention” to them.

Ewers has been a divisive prospect, with some NFL executives telling ESPN he should go in the top 100, while others aren’t so convinced.

Regardless, this year’s NFL Draft in Green Bay, Wisconsin, should see plenty of burnt orange flair.
