Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was spotted wearing his wedding ring in the dugout by eagle-eyed fans.
The former Barcelona boss was seen with the glittering band during his side’s Premier League match at Brentford on Tuesday evening. It marks the latest development since reports emerged that the Spaniard split from his wife after 30 years together. Spanish media outlets claim that the Manchester City gaffer and Cristina Serra have gone their separate ways after being married for the past 10 years.
Serra runs her own fashion company in Barcelona and the couples extended time apart is reportedly a key source of the rift. Guardiola and Serra have three children together, Maria, 24, Marius, 22, and Valentina, 17. One close friend of Guardiola told the Daily Mail: “I think they have grown apart. She left Manchester about five years ago to return to Barcelona. That has taken its toll. He is a total workaholic and not being involved in their family fashion business together may have affected their relationship too.”
Another source rejected any allegations of infidelity commenting: “They have parted on friendly terms and I really don’t think there is someone else involved.” The pair met back in 1994 when Guardiola was a player for Barcelona, but they did not tie the knot until 2014 in an intimate ceremony.
