Glasgow Airport is set to host its annual jobs fair with a sky-high 1,000 roles up for grabs.

The event, which will take place on Friday, January 17, will see over 35 employers from across the airport’s campus represented.

Jobseekers can visit The Academy Suite within The Holiday Inn at Glasgow Airport from 10am to 6pm to explore a range of opportunities in security, retail, facilities management, catering, ground handling and transportation.

The event – which attracted nearly 2,000 attendees last year – will see recruitment teams from a variety of airport-based and associated partners.

These include fire service provider FALCK, ground handlers Swissport and Menzies, security specialists ICTS and catering specialists Select Service Partners (SSP).

Loganair and Jet2, special assistance providers OCS and facilities management company ABM will also be present.

McGill’s Buses will also be recruiting for trainee and public service vehicle (PSV) driver positions, while several of the airport’s retailers, including Avolta, travel agent partners Barrhead Travel and Hays Travel, will also be in attendance.

For the first time this year, a quiet hour between 4pm and 5pm has been planned for those with sensory issues.

Mark Beveridge, managing director of Glasgow Airport, said: “We look forward to welcoming passengers to Glasgow Airport in 2025.

“To ensure that the airport community is sufficiently resourced to meet our passengers’ needs over the peak periods, such as the spring and summer school holidays, our jobs fair plays a key role in allowing the many organisations that play a vital part in supporting the airport, to have the opportunity to meet, connect and hire staff to support the demands of a busy operation.”

Those attending should bring with them an up-to-date CV and valid ID such as a passport or driving licence.

Given the security requirements involved in working at an airport, many of the roles on offer will require a full five-year checkable history.

Several organisations will also be interviewing on the day.

Representatives from Invest in Renfrewshire and Jobcentre Plus staff will also be present to offer support and advice – while translators will be on hand to support Polish, Romanian and Ukrainian jobseekers.

Free parking in the terminal’s multi-storey car park will be available on the day but only to those who register for the jobs fair in advance.

The First Bus 500 express service between Glasgow city centre and the airport will also be free to use for those attending and have pre-registered for the event.

Meanwhile, Invest in Renfrewshire will operate a shuttle bus service between 30 Causeyside Street, Paisley to the jobs fair. To register to use this shuttle service, email [email protected] or call free on 0300 300 1180. And to register an interest in the Glasgow Airport jobs fair, email [email protected]
