BLUEFIELD, W. Va. -Last December, Bluefield City Treasurer Danny Dillow was put on paid administrative leave after being charged with domestic battery and two counts of obstruction of an officer. During a Bluefield City Board meeting on Tuesday, Dillow was officially removed from his position as director of the Bluefield Sanitary Board.

To replace his position, Bluefield City Board member Daniel Wells was unanimously voted to become the new Bluefield Sanitary Board Director. Wells cites his experience as the reason that he was chosen for this position, as well as “being the right person at the right time.”

“…I think that there was a need to be filled on the board and I’ve been on a couple different boards now and gained some experience, so they felt pretty confident with the experience that I’ve gained from just being and serving that I may be able to help on this board as well,” says Wells.

During the meeting, Bluefield City Manager Cecil Marson was also designated as a chairman of the board for the Bluefield Sanitary Board.

Again, Wells’ new position replaces Dillow from his role on the Sanitary Board and not his role as treasurer.
