The M9 motorway will see a lane closure enforced as engineers work to repair a 15-inch-long burst to a water main near Stirling.
Road users are being advised of the upcoming single lane closure to the northbound carriageway on the M9, at Cambusbarron, to allow for repair work.
The burst occurred in a wooded area off of the northbound carriageway and tree removal works are required to allow the teams to complete the vital repairs.
Scottish Water is working with Amey to arrange a lane closure on the northbound carriageway to ensure the safety of the public and its teams while repair work takes place.
Additionally, three-way traffic management will be set up on the flyover over the M9, on Birkhill Road, at its junction with Stewart Street, to provide access for materials and equipment to reach the site.
Scottish Water teams carried out valve adjustment work on the network to isolate the burst water main, effectively alleviating localised flooding and restoring water supplies for customers in the FK7 and FK8 areas of Stirling who were impacted by the interruption.
FK7 includes Stirling (south and east), Bannockburn, Cambusbarron, Cowie, Fallin, Plean, South Alloa and St. Ninians. FK8 takes in Stirling city centre and west), Aberfoyle, Arnprior, Buchlyvie, Gargunnock, Gartmore, Inversnaid, Kippen, Port of Menteith, Ruskie and Thornhill.
A Scottish Water spokesperson said: “Teams will work to repair the burst as quickly as possible and lift the lane closure as soon as it is safe to do so in order to minimise disruption to road users.
