Love Island fans are starting to suspect that islander Luca Bish isn’t too keen on being part of the exciting All Star series.
The much-anticipated dating show made its debut on Monday with Maya Jama taking the reins as presenter.
With past stars returning for another shot at love, viewers have been riveted by the blossoming romances and cringe-worthy moments on screen.
However, it’s Luca who’s become the topic of conversation among the audience, with some believing he doesn’t seem thrilled to be in this year’s line-up. Based on his unenthusiastic presence during Wednesday night’s episode (January 15), many viewers expressed discomfort watching him, reports Wales Online.
On social media site X, one spectator commented: “Why is Luca in the villa? He hates it there.”
Someone else added: “Sorry, but Luca makes me so uncomfortable.”
Another remarked: “Luca looks like he didn’t want to be there in the first place! He always looks so p****d and he’s coming across so so dry and arrogant!”
Yet another said: “I saw somewhere saying Luca dont want to be there, nah i agree that man wants out.”
Elsewhere, a different viewer offered a critical take, stating: “I’m just going to say it: Love Island casting directors and ITV are missing the mark. This year I don’t think they’re interested in islanders finding love. They just want ratings at this point and they are forcing it.”
During Wednesday’s episode, Luca found himself in hot water when Olivia Hawkins ended up in tears over his behaviour.
Olivia, who was paired with Luca after the audience decided their fate, felt hurt upon realising that Luca hadn’t picked her during a daring challenge and didn’t even attempt to communicate with her before the game.
Luca, baffled by Olivia’s emotional reaction, later comforted her but also pointed out the fact that they haven’t been in the villa together for very long.
The next day, Olivia seemed to grasp where things stood as she appeared to become quite friendly with Marcel.
Nonetheless, some fans were unconvinced about their rapport. A viewer expressed discomfort on Twitter: “I need to walk out of the room because this conversation between Marcel and Olivia is so awkward, and I’m cringing hard.”
