Hibs are considering a move for North Macedonian International Jani Atanasov.

But the 25-year-old is just one of a number of midfield options the Easter Road club are currently looking at. Atanasov, who has 22 caps and three international goals, is currently with Polish side Cracovia. He is out of contract next summer.

New Hibs head of recruitment Garvan Stewart has put together a list of options for head coach David Gray and Atanasov features prominently. The Macedonian came through the ranks of Akademija Pandev before he had spells in Turkey with Bursaspor and then Croatian side Hajduk Split. Atanasov was linked with Celtic back in 2022.

North Macedonian internationals have done well in Scotland in recent seasons. Bojan Miovski started the trend when he moved to Aberdeen, under Jim Goodwin, and they sold him to Girona for more than £5million in the summer window.

Goodwin has continued to shop in that market with some success, bringing in Kristijan Trapanovski and David Babunski to his Dundee United team.
