Tributes have poured in for Linda Nolan after the beloved star passed away at the age of 65.
The heartbreaking news was announced just as Wednesday’s instalment of Loose Women aired.
Linda was a regular guest on the ITV show and sister Coleen is a panelist, prompting an emotional opening for today’s hosts – Christine Lampard, Myleene Klass, Nadia Sawalha and Kelly Brook.
Linda has been battling breast cancer for over 20 years and died surrounded by her beloved sisters.
Her final hours were said to have been full of “love and comfort.”
As Loose Women started, Christine said: “Some very sad news for you now. Linda Nolan has died at the age of 65.”
She shared the released statement and said: “Rest in peace Linda you will be deeply missed but never forgotten. We’ve been talking about Linda for so long with Coleen, you’re never prepared.”
Nadia added: “Nothing prepares because there is a moment when the light goes out, and when the light goes out, that is the most awful shock. They’ve been through so much as a family, sending all our love.”
“Yes, absolutely,” replied Christine, before adding: “Sending love to Coleen, Linda’s family, all of the family. We’re thinking of you all today.”
In a statement released to our sister title, the Mirror, agent Dermot McNamara, said: “It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Nolan, the celebrated Irish pop legend, television personality, Guinness World Record holding West End star, Sunday Times bestselling author and Daily Mirror columnist.
“She passed at around 10:20am at Blackpool Victoria Hospital on the MCEW Ward. The family said the hospital couldn’t do enough, they were tireless and made it so much more bearable.”
The statement continued: “She passed peacefully, with her loving siblings by her bedside, ensuring she was embraced with love and comfort during her final moments. Linda’s legacy extends beyond her incredible achievements in music and entertainment. She was a beacon of hope and resilience, sharing her journey to raise awareness and inspire others. Rest in peace, Linda. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.”
Loose Women star Coleen Nolan had a simple but devastating response to the public announcement of Linda’s death.

The statement read: “It’s with great sadness that we announce the passing of beloved Linda Nolan. She faced incurable cancer with courage, grace & determination, inspiring millions. Surrounded by family, she passed peacefully. A pop icon and beacon of hope, Linda will never be forgotten.”
Coleen then reshared the post, simply adding a broken heart emoji.
