Liverpool Champions League winner Didi Hamann has told Reds fringe man Wataru Endo to choose Celtic over Fulham if he’s given the choice between the two.

The Anfield midfielder has been linked with a potential move to Parkhead to join their Japanese contingent. The former Stuttgart man is valued at between £10-£12million and Arne Slot will reportedly listen to offers.

Celtic were linked with Endo in the summer around the time Matt O’Riley was heading for the Hoops exit door. Speculation has ramped up again that Endo could be on Brendan Rodgers’ radar with Liverpool’s Premier League rivals Fulham also said to be keen.

But Hamann told BestOffShoreSportsbook.org: “Celtic are of course more dominant than Fulham so I think they would be a better option for him. I can see a lot of teams being interested and I wish him all the best whatever happens.

“Having said that, the Liverpool squad is functioning and I would be keen for him to stay at the club. He is a great reader of the game and passer of the ball. Wataru Endo is a very smart player and he is at his best in a good team where you can rely on the players ahead of you.”

Ex Celtic midfielder Efrain Juarez has quit his job at Colombian double winners Atletico Nacional in protest over their transfer dealings, as they stall signing ex-Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos. The Mexican coach walked out on the Medellín side after becoming frustrated with their transfer policy.

And Juarez had also reportedly become unhappy at the club’s progress in trying to turn Morelos’ loan from Brazilian club Santos into a permanent transfer.

Morelos helped Atletico Nacional to a league and cup double and rediscovered his scoring touch by netting seven goals in 18 starts. But talks have stalled with Santos – who appointed former Ibrox boss Pedro Caixinha as their new manager last month. Juarez overcame a remarkable three-year ban from Colombian authorities after he was hammered for ‘excessive celebrating’ in a derby Cup win over Independiente Medellin. He appealed the ban and won his case.

But reports in Colombia indicated he was unhappy at the delay in signing Morelos and also with the arrival of Ecuadorian full back Billy Arce without his knowledge and the sale of two players – Pablo Ceppelini and Alvaro Angulo.

Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund appear to have moved into pole position to land £20m-rated Celtic-linked Chelsea kid Carney Chukwuemeka on loan.
