MANOR, Texas — A Central Texas school cancelled its classes on Wednesday amid a water line break in the region.
Presidential Meadows Elementary School in Manor said school is postponed until Thursday after a “Water Outage” currently impacting some Crossroads Utility Services customers.
On Tuesday, a boil water notice was issued in Cottonwood Creek Municipality (MUD) 1 (including ShadowGlen and Presidential Meadows) areas after a 24-inch water line was reportedly hit by construction crews.
In an update Wednesday morning, the utility company said ShadowGlen “is not affected by the boil water notice.” Meanwhile, a representative said the company is “currently repairing the transmission water main that serves Presidential Meadows only.”
Crossroads said it is “confident” services will be returned to normal Wednesday morning, though an exact time is uncertain.
The service posted an additional update to its website around 7:20 a.m. Tuesday, stating that “valves are being reopened to return water services in Cottonwood Creek MUD 1. “
When water pressure is restored, residents in the impacted areas are asked to boil their water for at least two minutes before consumption or use of any kind.
Maintenance was originally scheduled by EPCOR Water from Jan. 14- Jan. 22 in ShadowGlen and Presidential Meadows, but Crossroads said the current outage is unrelated.
