With the festive period out of the way, many people across the country are looking to get their lives back on an even keel. From new fitness regimes to healthier diets, lots of us are trying to make positive changes.

This doesn’t stop with ourselves either, as we look for ways to spruce up our home in the new year. For many of us, this means giving our homes a good clean to freshen them up.

And if you are looking for a new vacuum cleaner to blitz your home without breaking the bank, then Amazon has the deal for you. Shoppers are ditching bigger – and more expensive – brands like Dyson and Shark to plump for the Akitas 3in1 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner.

The “game changing” Akitas vacuum is available for just £69.99, which is 30 per cent off its RRP. It also tops the best-seller charts on Amazon, with customers rushing to buy it.

This lightweight vacuum tips the scales at a mere 2.4kg, making it a breeze to use and navigate around the home. It also boasts a battery life of up to 40 minutes, so you get plenty of cleaning time on a full charge, reports Birmingham Live.

The Akitas 3in1 comes with an energy-saving eco mode and a powerful max mode. With a 4.2-star rating on Amazon from around 13,000 reviews, customers are singing its praises.

One person wrote: “Ideal with two little kids to quickly vacuum up odds and ends off the floor. Quicker than getting the Shark out and does the job intended. Battery has a good life and boost is quite good. Price was great too.”

Another happy customer said: “For the price, this is amazing! I live in a bungalow so don’t need to worry about stairs or a very long run time. It’s light, great movement, excellent suction (picks up far more than my old hoover) and great battery life. I was between a Shark and Dyson before I found this, and so glad I did as I’ve saved a fortune and still got an excellent product.”

A third Amazon shopper said: “I have stairs and was fed up unplugging the plug around the flat, it was also recommended by a friend and by Google – £70 for a game changer. It’s cordless, so it’s good for hard floors and has great suction for such a small machine. It’s very light and the battery lasts 30 to 40 minutes and charges fast. Splits up in to a handheld, easy to empty, and if on a budget or replacing a more expensive hoover, you can’t go wrong with this.”

Someone else commented: “I love this compact and very affordable vacuum. It looks great, it’s very light and works perfectly. Battery is much longer than Dyson’s actually. Would recommend.”

However, some people were disappointed with the vacuum. One disgruntled customer said: “I bought this based on good reviews, I have a small apartment so thought it would be fine. For the first few weeks there were no issues. The suction wasn’t super strong but as I was using it once a day at least it was fine. Two months later and it doesn’t work with the long nozzle. It’s lost all suction so only works as a small hand held for the car.”
