A Scots pensioner who died in “unexplained” circumstances at a house in Hamilton has been named and pictured.
Susan Sergison, 78, was found by police after they were called to a property on Gilmour Drive in the South Lanarkshire town on Wednesday night.
She was pronounced dead at the scene, with officers treating her death as unexplained.
Susan had lived in the house for several years, and news of her death has shocked local residents.
Officers received the call just before 8.30pm on Wednesday, 15 January, and attended the address. A 49-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with an assault.
Forensic teams were seen combing the property on Thursday, with the scene still cordoned off by police.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.25pm on Wednesday, 15 January, 2025, we were called to a report of a woman seriously injured within a house in Gilmour Drive, Hamilton.
“Emergency services attended and a 78-year-old woman was pronounced dead. The death is being treated as unexplained and a post mortem examination will be carried out.
“Officers remain at the scene and anyone with any concerns can approach these officers. A 49-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with assault. Enquiries are ongoing.”
