Livingston are hoping to add to their attacking options during the January transfer window as boss David Martindale eyes up a Championship title charge.
Despite sitting in third place, the Lions have found the net just 27 times in their 21 games this term and the gaffer admits he needs more from the striking department. However, it may have to be a case of letting others go first to facilitate a new arrival.
He said: “I do believe that we’ve got the players in that dressing room to get us back to the Premiership and I’ve told the boys that.
“There’s different ways to go about that and win games but hopefully we can get a couple of boys moved on.
“That will then allow us to bring in another offensive player because I feel we’re just that little bit short in terms of a skill set at the top end of the park.”
Martindale hopes that Tuesday’s 2-1 win over Airdrie might help, adding: We need someone with something a wee bit different to what we’ve already got in the building.
“Hopefully I can do that over the coming weeks and picking three points up against Airdrie helps keep us up where we need to be and maybe even lets the board think that they need to go and find some money to help us out.”
