A Rutherglen community group brought some Christmas cheer to locals at a fun-filled festive party.

The event at St Columbkille’s Church was organised by Nostalgia, thanks to some funding from the National Lottery. It was “an extravaganza of Christmas fun and frolics” that brought people together at the most wonderful time of the year.

And organiser Geraldine Baird and Gordon Hutcheson, a local photographer, helped to bring the very talented singer Kat Muir and piper John Paton to entertain the audience.

Despite the weather, over 150 older community members went along to eat, chat and dance the afternoon away.

The hall provided the food and the amazing spread was much remarked upon.

The organisers would like to thank the National Lottery for allocating funding to bring some good cheer to Rutherglen pensioners on Saturday, December 21.
