The host of The Traitors Claudia Winkleman has dropped a “game-changing” bombshell just days ahead of the BBC show’s climactic final.

The popular BBC programme made its third and penultimate weekly appearance on Friday (January 17), ramping up suspense with only three episodes to go.

Amid escalating deception and treachery, Friday’s instalment concluded with a teaser for the upcoming week, wherein host Claudia Winkleman informed the remaining contestants of a significant twist.

Wales Online reports Winkleman was seen addressing the participants around a table, declaring: “I’m going to award one of you with an extraordinary power that has the potential to turn the entire game on its head.”

As the credits began to roll, viewers rushed to X, once known as Twitter, to vent their astonishment at the riveting preview.

One user posed the question: “Wait what’s this extraordinary power Claudia mentioned in the preview for next week, she claims could turn the game on its head.”

A second enthusiast speculated: “Imagine if the extraordinary power is to unbanish or resurrect a faithful #TheTraitorsUK.”

Another was left guessing: “Very curious about what this new twist is gonna be. I wonder if someone is gonna have a chance to learn who the Traitors are… #TheTraitors.”

The episode kicked off with the participants converging for another tense breakfast session, entering to find a noticeably less crowded table.

As each contestant arrived, the last trio standing – Jake, Lisa, and Leanne – caused others to speculate which would be making a return.

Following a great deal of speculation, Jake and Leanne were the ones to make an entrance, indicating that Traitors Minah and Charlotte had killed Lisa the previous night.

During the banishment ceremony, Leon and Frankie received the most votes but with a tie of four votes each, the decision fell to Freddie to determine who would be banished.

Freddie chose Leon, who was then required to reveal to his fellow stars that he was a Faithful before leaving the castle for good.

The Traitors continues next Wednesday at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
