COOSA COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC/Gray News) – A woman in Alabama died in a freak accident after her vehicle struck a horse in the roadway, according to authorities.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the crash happened around 11:40 pm. on Jan. 14.
Officials said 63-year-old Janice W. Bullard was killed after the vehicle she was riding in crashed into a horse that was standing in the roadway on U.S. 231.
Authorities said the vehicle left the roadway after the impact and struck a large rock.
Bullard was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
The driver of the vehicle and another passenger were both injured and taken to a hospital.
