The WWE has struck a deal for a new partnership just weeks after launching the Netflix era.
As part of the TKO Group Holdings, the wrestling giant has agreed a multi-year link up with TNA Wrestling. The deal will create “unprecedented crossover opportunities” within WWE’s NXT Superstars and TNA Wrestling Stars. The agreement will enable talent to garner additional exposure across key WWE and TNA programming in an attempt to find the next generation of wrestling greats.
Former TNA Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace and Joe Hendry frequently appeared on NXT programming in 2024 but the move to make it an official agreement is another feather in the WWE’s cap. The likes of John Cena and The Rock made the Monday Night Raw Netflix debut on January 6 a worldwide smash hit.
Ariel Shnerer, Senior Vice President of Content & Distribution for TNA Wrestling and Anthem Sports & Entertainment called the deal “historic” adding that collaboration and competition “do not have to be mutually exclusive”.
WWE Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative, and icon of the ring, Shawn Michaels said: “We look forward to growing and evolving our partnership with TNA Wrestling and its outstanding group of athletes by creating new opportunities to further the development of our talent and to elevate the viewer experience at home.”
In November 2023, WWE and The CW announced a five-year agreement to bring NXT to broadcast television for the first time in its 13-year history. WWE NXT is available on Netflix for UK fans.
