In the popular BBC contest The Traitors, only eight participants are left standing, with two still hiding their deceitful roles.

The most recent episode on Friday, saw emotional farewells as two more loyal players were ousted – Lisa fell victim to ‘murder’, while Leon was banished during the tense roundtable discussion.

During a team task that involved constructing colossal statues, the group successfully raked in an additional £10k for their collective prize fund.

A dining experience closed off the night, serving up a meal alongside heartfelt revelations from both traitors and faithfuls about personal struggles and aspirations.

Faithful Frankie expressed her desire to win and assist her son with university fees, which led fans to connect dots after loyal Freddie also cited university funding as his motive for competing, reports the Manchester Evening News.

On X, previously known as Twitter, speculation was rife, with one person commenting: “I’m really wondering if the… Frankie is Freddie’s mom theory is a thing. He wants the money for uni. She wants to use the money for her son going to uni. Single moms.”

Someone else tweeted: “Nah that dinner has just reignited my Frankie is Freddie’s mum theory!!” While another shared: “Frankie and Freddie?! THEY MUST BE MOTHER AND SON”.

The Traitors continues Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays on BBC One from 9pm.
