AUSTIN, Texas — Most schools across Central Texas won’t have class on Monday due to Martin Luther King Jr. Day. However, with snow and below-freezing temperatures expected for Austin and across Central Texas, some districts have already decided on their schedules for the upcoming week.

Austin ISD said it’s actively monitoring the weather and will make “every effort to make a decision as early as possible.” Some school districts can decide early, while others can wait until the morning classes are scheduled to close operations.
