WASHINGTON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/Gray News) – Twin brothers in Florida were arrested on accusations they sexually abused children over the course of several years.
Donald and Ronald Hawkins, both 67, were arrested on Jan. 14 after the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said they received reports of the brothers abusing victims on multiple occasions for several years.
Investigators say once the victims were interviewed, and evidence was reviewed, the arrest warrants were issued for the brothers.
Donald was arrested in Washington County and is being held on charges of sexual assault on a victim under the age of 12.
Ronald, who lives in Brevard County, was arrested there and is awaiting extradition to Washington County, where police say he will face charges of lewd and lascivious behavior on a victim less than 12 years old.
Police did not provide details on the nature of the alleged abuse committed.
