A 16-year-old male has been charged following a serious assault in Dumbarton where a pensioner was allegedly attacked last month.
The incident happened at around 7.40pm on Friday, December 20, on Bankend Road in the West Dunbartonshire town.
The 69-year-old male victim was treated in hospital for injuries following the assault.
Police Scotland has now confirmed that a 16-year-old youth was arrested and charged in connection. He was released on an undertaking to appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court at another date.
A Police Scotland statement read: “The 16-year-old was released on an undertaking to appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court at a later date. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
