Forensics are continuing to scour a Paisley street after a 21-year-old man died in unexplained circumstances.

A large police presence has been in attendance after a major disturbance on Saturday afternoon.

The victim was found seriously injured in the Foxbar area of the town but died at the scene, despite the efforts of the emergency services.

His death is currently being treated as unexplained. A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with assault.

Police officers remain stationed at a cordon on the residential street while the investigation continues.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Emergency services were called to Maree Road and Lochbroom Road in Paisley following a report of a disturbance around 4.15pm on Saturday, January 18.
“A 21-year-old man was found seriously injured and pronounced dead at the scene. The death is currently being treated as unexplained and his next of kin are aware.

“A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with assault and enquiries are ongoing.”

Detective Inspector Euan McMillan added: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this incident, however there is no threat to the wider public.

“Officers will remain in the area as enquiries are carried out and anyone with any concerns, can approach them.”
