Police have launched a probe following the death of a 21-year-old man in Paisley.
Emergency services were called to Maree Road and Lochbroom Road in the Foxbar area of the town following reports of a disturbance around 4.15pm on Saturday.
The man was found seriously injured and pronounced dead at the scene.
The streets were locked down and a blue tent was erected around several properties.
One local resident said: “Was just getting ready to take the dog out and there have been tens upon tens of police cars and ambulances going up Brediland Road.”
Another added: “I’ve never seen so many police and ambulances, armed response units too.”
Detective Inspector Euan McMillan said: “A 21-year-old man was found seriously injured and pronounced dead at the scene. The death is currently being treated as unexplained and his next of kin are aware.
“A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with assault.
“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this incident, however there is no threat to the wider public.
“Officers will remain in the Foxbar area as enquiries are carried out and anyone with any concerns, can approach them.”
