The Traitors’ stars Alex Olesky and Lisa Coupland joined Lorraine Kelly on her ITV programme to talk about life after the BBC show.
After being booted off the programme last week, the pair addressed the continuing online rumours that they were related. Fans were convinced the pals were secret family members after 2024 contestants Diane and Ross managed to keep the fact they were mother and son under wraps.
Alex and Lisa told Lorraine they were willing to take a DNA test to finally prove they were just really close friends and not a mother and son duo.
Lorraine said: “There were lots of rumours that you actually were biologically related!”
Lisa laughed: “We are going to do a DNA test later!”
The pair also opened up on how Lisa and Traitor Linda became so close to Alex that the Scots care home manager even invited them to his wedding last year.
Alex, 30, said: “It just had to happen, we just got so close so quickly, I can’t really explain it and I was just like I would absolutely love to have you both at the wedding and yeah it was a fantastic day, we had such a good time.”
Touching upon the close relationships they formed, Alex added: “It is such a high pressure environment that I think we just found a bit of solace in being really silly together, so we are just totally silly together and we just connected and it was just really special.”
Lisa, 62, went on: “Definitely Alex reminds me of my boys in many ways and we had that sort of dry sense of humour where we would just look at things and laugh – and laughter would get you through a lot of tense moments. Linda and I are of a similar age and we just looked at Alex as if he was our wee boy!”
Last week, in an interview with The Daily Record, Alex said he would be returning to his job in a care home now that he has left the BBC show.
The North Berwick native, who lives in Whitby, had applied in the hopes of taking home the £120,000 cash prize. He hoped to use the money to embark on an IVF journey with his wife after revealing the couple could not have biological children.
Following his exit he told the Record: “We still hope to start a family.
“I’m desperate to be a dad, I’m just a big kid and just always wanted to be a dad.
“After my elimination life has gone back to normal. I’m back to working in the care sector.”
