A huge inferno has broken out on the 12th floor of a Scots tower block leaving seven injured as firefighters continue to tackle the blaze.
Emergency services raced to Aulton Court in Aberdeen at 8pm on January 20 after reports of a blaze. The fire broke out in the landing of the 12th floor in the 19 floor towerblock, prompting an evacuation.
Police, ambulances and fire fighters remain at the scene and seven people have been put into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.
Shocking images show dozens of emergency service vehicles and major incident vans parked around the estate as they tend to residents impacted by the blaze. It is unknown what started the fire at this time.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 7.58pm on Monday, January 20, to reports of a fire alarm activating at Aulton Court, Seaton Crescent, Aberdeen.
“Operations Control mobilised five appliances to the scene and firefighters are working hard to extinguish the fire affecting the communal area on the 12 th floor of a 19-storey tower block of flats. Seven casualties have been passed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service and crews remain on the scene”.
Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service have also been approached for comment.
