BLUEFIELD, W.Va. – Dr. Deirdre Guyton and Gabrielle Ponder with Bluefield State University stopped by alongside the City of Bluefield’s Felicia Holcomb for the latest edition of In Focus.

The four chatting about the upcoming Black History Month celebrations including a parade, fashion show, movie showings, trivia nights, luncheon, heritage tours and the CIAA tournament.
Following the discussion our Joshua Bolden reaches into the WVVA Vault for a a history lesson on Bluefield High’s path from segregation to integration.
The program capped with information on the ‘Father of Black History,’ Virginia’s own Carter G. Woodson and words from the Reverend, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
