No one was inside either home at the time of the fire, but the cause remains unclear.
AUSTIN, Texas — An investigation is underway after two homes caught fire Monday afternoon in southwest Austin.
According to the Austin Fire Department, a structure fire on Triboro Trail, which is near MoPac and West William Cannon Drive, extended into a second home.
Crews had to pull out of the home due to an overly heavy fire and elevated safety risks to firefighters and began putting out the flames outside the home before returning inside.
After multiple searches, no one was found inside either home at the time of the fire. What caused the fire is unclear at this time, but nearby residents are asked to avoid the area.
