AUSTIN, Texas — If you’re planning on using public transportation on Monday night, CapMetro said it is adjusting its service schedule due to weather conditions.
Rides are going to stop at 9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20. The agency is asking customers to plan ahead and finish trips before 9 p.m.
CapMetro’s Night Owl service will be suspended for the night. In observance of MLK Jr. Day, the agency is operating on a Saturday-level service. CapMetro Rail, UT Shuttles and Express are not in service.
“CapMetro has been working closely with our partners at the Austin/Travis County Emergency Operations Center to monitor the situation and address the potential impacts of the weather on the region,” CapMetro said in a statement.
The agency said it is ready to shift its resources as needed to provide emergency transportation for the community.
CapMetro is already providing transportation to cold-weather shelters this week. Anyone needing a trip to a cold-weather shelter who can’t pay the fare will still be given a ride.
Service impacts are not expected on Tuesday, Jan. 21. Customers are encouraged to sign up for CapMetro Alerts for updates on delays or detours, and anyone with urgent requests is asked to call CapMetro’s customer service line at 512-474-1200.
