A body has been found in a river during searches for a woman in Elgin. Rae Robertson, 48, was reported missing from the Brodie Drive area in the town at around 10pm on Saturday, January 18.
Officers said they were growing concerned for her welfare as they appealed for information. Sadly, police have now confirmed that a body was found in the River Lossie on Monday evening.
Formal identification has yet to take place, however Rae’s heartbroken family have been informed. The death is not being treated as suspicious.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Police Scotland can confirm that a body of a female was found in the River Lossie, Elgin, on the evening of Monday, January 20.
“Formal identification has yet to take place, however the family of 48-year-old Rae Robertson, reported missing on Monday, January 20, has been made aware. The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
